Apple iPhone 13, 13 mini AY 108 Tag-On Battery Repair Flex Cable
The Apple iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini AY 108 Battery Tag-On Flex Cable is a must-have part for anyone looking to upgrade and optimise the battery of their Apple iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini. It is a special programmable connector designed to connect to the phone's battery, allowing you to reprogram the phone's Battery Health settings and change the number of charging cycles using the AY 108 Programmer (optional).
The most important use of this part is when replacing an old battery with a new one and do not want to see the Apple error message "Important Battery Message, Unable to verify this iPhone has a genuine Apple battery. Health information not available for this battery.", which occurs when replacing the battery outside of an Apple service facility.
To avoid this error, the charge control chip of the old original battery is transferred to the new battery. This is achieved by re-soldering the chip with a battery spot welder. You can see the process in the video below.
The way this AY 108 battery Tag-On flex cable works is to connect it to the battery, fold the battery connector and the Tag-On connector so that the connector is in the same position as the original connector and connect it to the AY 108 programmer. We can then reset the Health parameter to 100% and the Charge Cycles parameter to 0 via the programmer. After the battery is connected to the phone, the "Settings" shows the battery Health setting at 100% and the Charging cycles at 0.
